The third edition of Santa Cruz Sal2 already has a total of 163 participants, including shops, restaurants, businesses and NGOs that have chosen once again to exhibit and sell their products in the streets of the capital. It is expected that over 80,000 people come this Saturday October 6. From 10:00 to 22:00 the city will live a day in which all the shops will be at people's disposal to offer discounts and reduced price items.
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor and the Managing Director of the Development Society, Julio Perez, the manager of the capital entity, Antonio Olivera the representative of the working committee of Santa Cruz Sal2, Iván González and managing director of Cuatromoción and Hatusa, Marcelo Perez Florido, gave details of the event in which the City Council together with entrepreneurs and traders have been working for months.
The Mayor thanked the effort expended by the Society of Development and traders, "who have shown their cooperation and good work at all times."."We have another weekend where fun in the city is guaranteed and we invite all families to enjoy Santa Cruz," Bermudez said, while adding that "this fair help considerably to the economic recovery and maintenance of many jobs." He also emphasised the public- private collaboration, "which we have been developing for some time and thanks to it we can resubmit events of this type." In this sense, he advanced notice that "today we have had a new meeting with the commercial sector to continue working in this direction." Finally, he stressed that it is important the participation of stores all over the city and not only those of the centre.
Meanwhile, Julio Perez, stressed the value of continuity of this fair, "this is its third year and we hope it continues being a Santa Cruz activity" He also highlighted the high participation and the fact that the companies themselves are betting on Santa Cruz. In that respect, he recalled the Santa Cruz generates the 37 percent of employment of the entire island "From August 2011 to the same period of 2012 only 3,733 new jobs were established in Santa Cruz," he explained. The Development Society Manager detailed the novelties this new edition brings, like a space dedicated to the promotion of the gastronomy of the city and one of the most innovative businesses, as well as musical performances and entertainment for all audiences. "With this event we want to maintain the activities that show good results and make an effort because commerce is satisfied," said Olivera.
Finally, the representative of the working committee of Santa Cruz Sal2, Iván González, and the managing director of Cuatromoción and Hatusa, Marcelo Perez, reiterated its appreciation to the City Council and the Society Development "for the support shown and expressed their desire to continue working hand in hand in future events."
